This guide describes how to add the CNAME records generated by Opensend to your Namecheap DNS settings. Follow these step-by-step instructions to configure your domain.
Steps to Configure CNAME Records in Namecheap
- Sign in to your Namecheap account. From the left sidebar, select Domain List to view your domains.
- Manage your domain. Click the Manage button next to the domain you wish to configure.
- Open the Advanced DNS tab. Within the domain management page, navigate to the Advanced DNS tab to edit your DNS settings.
- Add new records. Scroll down to the Host Records section and click Add New Record. Choose CNAME Record as the type.
- Enter the Host and Value fields. For each CNAME record provided by Opensend, enter the following:
- Certificate validation record
- CDN domain record
- Tracking domain record
Enter name and values provided by Opensend for each CNAME record on NameCheap as in the example below.
- Leave TTL at its default. Namecheap uses an Automatic TTL for CNAME records, which is typically appropriate.
- Save changes. After entering all three CNAME records, click Save Changes to apply your DNS settings.
- Allow propagation and verify. DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate. After waiting, return to your Opensend CNAME setup page and select Verify to confirm that the records are active.
If you encounter issues during DNS configuration, double-check that the Host and Value fields match the exact strings provided by Opensend. Incorrect values or typing errors can cause the verification process to fail.
