This guide explains how to add the CNAME records generated by Opensend to your domain’s DNS settings on GoDaddy. Once configured, these records allow Opensend to serve assets and tracking from your own subdomains.
Steps to Add CNAME Records in GoDaddy
- Sign in to your GoDaddy account. From your product list, find the domain you want to configure and select DNS to open the DNS management page.
- Add a new record. In the Records section, click Add. Select CNAME from the Type dropdown.
- Create 3 CNAME records as provided by Opensend for your CNAME configuration.
Certificate Validation, CDN Domain and Tracking Domain
Enter name and values provided by Opensend for each CNAME record on GoDaddy as in the example below.
- Set TTL. Choose a Time to Live (TTL) value or leave it at the default (typically 1 hour). TTL controls how long DNS resolvers cache the record.
- Save your CNAME record. Click Save to add the record. Repeat these steps to add each of the three CNAME records.
- Allow time for propagation. DNS updates may take up to 24 hours to propagate. After waiting, return to your Opensend CNAME setup page and click Verify to confirm the records are active.
If you receive an error message when adding a record, ensure there is no existing record with the same hostname and that the values you entered match those supplied by Opensend.
