AWS Route 53 DNS Setup Guide for Opensend CNAME Configuration

Use this guide to create the CNAME records required by Opensend within Amazon Route 53. The records allow Opensend to route tracking and CDN traffic through your domain.

Steps to Add CNAME Records in Amazon Route 53

  • Sign in to the AWS Management Console. Navigate to the Route 53 service.

  • Select your hosted zone. Under DNS management, choose Hosted zones and click the domain you want to configure.

  • Create a new record. Click Create record (or Create record set in older interfaces).

  • Choose the CNAME type. In the record form, set Type to CNAME

  • Create 3 records as provided by Opensend for your CNAME configuration.
    • Certificate Validation
    • CDN Domain
    • Tracking Domain

This should be the proper mapping for each of the 3 records that Opensend provides, for 3 records above that will be created on AWS.

Repeat these steps for all 3 CNAME records provided by Opensend for your configuration.

  1. Save the record. Click Create records or Save to add the record. Repeat the process to create each CNAME record.
  2. Wait for DNS propagation. Allow up to 24 hours for the changes to take effect across the internet. Then return to your Opensend CNAME setup page and click Verify to confirm the records are active.

If Route 53 reports an error, verify that there are no existing records using the same host name and that each value matches the string provided by Opensend.
